The Civil Rights Movement is one of the strongest examples in recent US history. The movement is distinguished by its emphasis on organization and education for those participating in protests. Instruction was available through churches and/or civil rights organization. Those who received instruction on how to approach non-violent resistance, passed that knowledge along to friends, family and acquaintances who wanted to participate in demonstrations.
I understand your points; however those who attended the Bilderberg demonstrations did not have the benefit of this type of preparation. They did their best given the obstacles and challenges faced on site, and Alex really helped keep the group focused on the mission. Yes, they were sometimes off message without him, but they rallied when he joined them. Like it or not, movements like this require lots of organization, planning and leadership at various levels of event planning. Even then, many things can and did go wrong. Alex can't do it all, but he certainly can, and no doubt has, inspired the sprouting of new leaders who may well take a page from history and up the game some more.
